Peter Chaplin - "Food for thought"

'Master vegetarian chef Peter Chaplin, is best known to New Zealanders for his appearances as TV chef on the Good Morning Programme, and as host to the series "Is it Safe to Eat?". He is an award winning Chef from the well-known and respected Musical Knives restaurant in Ponsonby Road, and has now opened a new café on Carr Rd, Mt Roskill where he continues his philosophy of creating delicious, innovative, and nutritious food.

Those who have experienced his cuisine know he creates innovative organic vegetarian cuisine. What many New Zealander’s do not know is that Peter cut his teeth looking after the nutritional needs of some of the most famous musicians on the planet. The strenuous demands of touring meant that the stars needed high-energy nutritious food to keep them performing their best. Introduced to this vocation by New Zealand’s own Thompson Twins, Peter then went on to tour with Madonna and Iggy Pop. Their personal fitness regimes as well as energetic performances meant that Peter had to create exciting, tasty, high-energy foods to keep them on form. Chrissie Hynde called on Peter to look after her, trusting his experience and ability to cater for her strict vegetarian philosophy.

Those who are already acquainted with his Cooking School, and newcomers, will be pleased to know that he is continuing these on the premises where you will once again be able to experience his infectious passion and enthusiasm for his cuisine and learn how to create it for yourself. But the café and cooking school are not strictly vegetarian; Peter wants to cater for a wide range of tastes and lifestyles so non-vegetarian food and cooking classes are availble.
