Cooking for the Birds!

I cooked for the wild birds today. As winter approaches food runs out so why not follow my lead and whip up a seed cake today! Just melt down a packet of dripping or lard if you can find it. My supermarket butcher guy said so much lard was being exported that it was impossible to find. Then add some wild bird mix from the supermarket and I tossed in oats, bran, wheatgerm and linseed. Pour into a tin, but remember to cut into chunks before it sets completely or it will be impossible to do. My picture is of the seed cake molten, before it sets and just a warning your kitchen smells like old roast! Then suspend from a tree in an old string onion bag and you will have birds flocking to your trees. Make sure you hang it where you can see it from your bedroom window so that you can spend time relaxing and watching the birds.
