RE:Lake Farms Meat Well done Fatface, I applaud local producers, we need them to keep our limited food culture alive against the characterless supermarket. You should get them to list in the foodie directory!!!

Lake Farms Meat When I was a child, more than 6 decades ago, my mother bought meat from the local butcher who knew the farmer who'd raised the beef (sounds like a nursery rhyme, doesn't it!)

In those days, beef was raised without antibiotics, chemical fertilisers and factory methods. Quality rather than ever increasing profit was the prime motivation for growing prime beef - and the taste was absolutely superb.

In fact, I had forgotten just how good top quality meat could taste until I stumbled across an advertisement for Lake Farm Beef [http://site.lakefarmbeef.co.nz/] and decided to order a pack as a trial.

I was hooked from the first mouthful. Superlatives are not enough, this is the way meat *should* taste and so rarely does, even in the best restaurants.

Colin and Keryn Brown of Cambridge decided to eschew the usual dairy/beef cross which accounts for the majority of meat in New Zealand and go for beef/beef, with Piedmontese, known for tenderness and quality. It's worked...satisfied customers return again and again.

If you remember beef, hand-raised for quality, or if you have never tasted the absolute pinnacle of perfection, then put your name down for a Lake Farms Beef pack.

You won't regret it and you will bless me all your days :-)
