RE:Best Pizza
Yum! I liked them too - a totally different experience from the gourmet woodfire pizzas that many Auckland places do, as they are the traditional NY style. We took the kids and it was a neat food experience for them. Their eyes nearly popped out of their heads when they saw the size of it!

Best Pizza
Sal's Pizza in Auckland - 3 outlets, one in the CBD and one in K' Rd, plus a new one soon to open in Takapuna. I finally tried it last night after hearing it was great, and I was just floored, the pizza is so delicious! Really authentic, NY style, thin crust and minimal, but classic, toppings. They import many of their ingredients, including the mozzarella cheese and pepperoni, and they make the most delicious, perfect tomato sauce. But be warned, the pies are huge! Again, authentic, 18" which is New York style. But at $24 - $32 each, it will feed 3 - 4, so a great deal. The locations are very pared back, not fancy restaurants, just casual pizza joints. They also sell by the slice for a delicious lunch, and they do delivery or takeaways. But if you want to really experience the best flavour, have it fresh from the oven on site. YUMMM! I can't wait to go back!
