Sweet Success for Prenzel Lemon Zest at World Competition....

http://www.prenzel.com

Only four months after its release, Prenzel Distilling’s new limoncello “Lemon Zest” has been awarded Gold at the 2009-2010 World Beverage Competition in Florida. The finest beverage products from iced teas to vodkas were tested by an international panel of industry professionals. Packaging and brand names are kept secret from judges and double blind tastings prove to be an effective way to provide honest opinions.

New to the market, Lemon Zest, available in Prenzel’s tasting rooms throughout the country, is light smooth and refreshing. Prenzel Distiller, 22 year old Hayden Johnstone says he’s” pleased with the result.” He developed a traditional Italian recipe but adjusted it specifically to the New Zealand palate. To win Gold in the USA would indicate “that its appeal is not just limited to Kiwi tastes.”
Company owner Hugh Steadman says he’s absolutely delighted with the outcome, “Limoncello is a relatively new category in New Zealand and is fast becoming the flavour of the year. New Zealand lemons are particularly flavoursome when compared to those grown in other countries – so I am not surprised we can win medals for this product overseas.”
