The supurb tastes of Fresh Georgian-style Cheeses

I have just added a couple of new cheeses to my product range on http://www.tastesfromaroundnz.co.nz , available to purchase from anywhere around NZ. They are the fresh Georgian Cheeses made here in Auckland by Colchis Ltd. The first one (pictured) is Sulguni - it is a stretched curd cheese, closely related to Mozzarella. Sulguni is a fresh cheese, made from all-natural local ingredients. It is made from cow's milk and has a low salt content and a slightly sour taste. The unique property of Suluni is its layered texture, which is achieved by hand-stretching each individual wheel of cheese according to a traditional method. These layers and high moisture content, give the cheese a distinctly succulent mouthfeel. Lovely in pieces topped with a slice of tomato and chopped basil and a dash of pepper. Melts in your mouth. Or can be used in dishes like pizzas, omlettes and sanwiches.
The other cheese I have listed on my website is Inguli. This is an entirely original fresh cheese, developed by Marina Kandelaki, chief cheesemaker and founder of Colchis Ltd. It is also made from cow's milk and has a strong, very salty flavour. What makes it so unique is that it is made with a kefir grain starter - with its probiotic qualities. Using these grains give Inguli a complex, slightly yeasty rustic flavour and irregular holes, both of which are uncommon in fresh cheeses. It looks very lacey in appearance. This cheese works best as a table cheese - lovely on a good crusty bread with some butter, or like feta, Inguli can be used in salads. It also melts well and can be used as a tasty topping on hot dishes such as pasta and pizza.
